    The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) commenced operations in August 1950 and completed 70 years of its unique and valued contribution to the prosperity of Sri Lanka.

    The Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) directed the Secretary to the Ministry of Wildlife and Forest Conservation and its respective officials to prepare a formal plan
    in order to expedite the implementation of the recommendations made to resolve the human-elephant conflict which is now a grave concern in Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the
    COPA committee directed for a report to be submitted to Parliament within two months.

    Hon. Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva was elected as the President of the Sri Lanka – Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Association whilst Hon. Rauff Hakeem, Hon. A. Aravindh Kumar and Hon. Mohomad Muzammil were elected as Vice President.

    Coinciding with the two-day official visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, five economically significant Memoranda of Understanding were signed between Sri Lanka

    and Pakistan  (23) at Temple Trees.
