Industrial Exports and Investment Promotion, Tourism and Aviation Minister Prasanna Ranatunge has issued directives to further broaden the welfare programs currently implemented by the Investment Board for those employed at Free Trade Zones.

The Ministry of Public Administration Ministry has issued the appointment letters for 45,585 selected graduates. The chosen candidates should report to the relevant Divisional Secretaries and obtain their letters and they would be directed to their respective Rural Service centers.

Accepting applications for postal voting will commence on March 06^th  and continue until March 16^th , for the General Election to be held on April 25^th, Chairman of the National Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya said.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Finance Minister has decided to increase the low interest loans from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 60,000 in order to relieve the burden on those struggling due to the high interest charged by microfinance companies.
