The Navy on 09th April 2020 conducted an intelligence operation to apprehend 28 persons who were avoiding quarantine orders remaining in the village of Suduwella, Ja-Ela. Subsequently, this group of persons were sent to the SLN quarantine centre at Oluvil for proper quarantine process.

President's New Year Message

My new year message to you this year is being made at a crucial time when, as a nation, we are facing a serious health threat. In fact, that serious threat has compelled us to celebrate this new year in accordance with health advice and directions.

The Navy with the assistance of residents of Gintota carefully captured a crocodile and handed over it to the Department of Wildlife Conservation (12th April 2020). This freshwater giant, strangled in a net, had arrived in to Gintota area.
