    Despite economic challenges and global competition, President Ranil Wickremesinghe, addressing the General Convocation of Sir John Kotelawala Defence University encouraged graduates to contribute to Sri Lanka’s growth.

    State Minister of Rural Economy Mr. Kader Mastan has announced the initiation of a comprehensive program aimed at reducing the government’s expenditure on grain imports by providing seeds and market opportunities to rural cultivators across the country.

    Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, while thanking the Asian Development Bank for the assistance provided to agriculture, rural small and medium sectors and other development projects, urged the regional funding agency to initiate new projects on areas such as renewable energy, digitalization, and public transport systems, especially the railways.
