President Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed to expedite the programme to provide welfare benefits to 3.1 million low-income families in Sri Lanka.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the country is facing the worst economic crisis in its history and the government is ready to overcome the challenge even in the face of global economic and food crises.
The first poppy flower was pinned on President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the occasion of the remembrance of the Poppy Day, which held this afternoon (06) at the Parliament premises.
The Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, at its meeting held on 05 October 2022, decided to maintain the Standing Deposit Facility Rate (SDFR) and the Standing Lending Facility Rate (SLFR) of the Central Bank at their current levels of 14.50 per cent and 15.50 per cent, respectively.
