    The Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, at its meeting held on 03 March 2021, decided to maintain the Standing Deposit Facility Rate (SDFR) and the Standing Lending Facility Rate (SLFR) of the Central Bank at their current levels of 4.50 per cent and 5.50 per cent, respectively. The Board arrived at this decision after carefully considering the macroeconomic conditions and expected developments on the domestic and global fronts. 

    The female Members of Parliament have made a request in writing to the Hon. Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to appoint a Select Committee to look into and report to the
    Parliament its recommendations to ensure gender equity and equality with special emphasis on looking into gender-based discriminations and violations of women’s rights in Sri Lanka.

    The Committee on Parliamentary Business chaired by the Hon. Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena held today (04), decided to commence debate on the Report of the
    Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter Sunday attack from Wednesday, the 10 th of March.
