April 24, 2020A consortium of Defence Attaches/Advisers from nine foreign missions in Sri Lanka (21) called on Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID -19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the Army HQ in order to receive a comprehensive update on the status quo as regards the COVID-19 outbreak in Sri Lanka.

April 24, 2020Foreign Secretary Ravinatha Aryasinha has observed that even as the Foreign Ministry was preoccupied with endeavouring to mitigate a multitude of problems faced by Overseas Sri Lankans, it was in parallel also seeking to re-position Sri Lanka’s exports in the context of market conditions that have arisen as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
In its continuous efforts to control the spread of new coronavirus within the country, the Navy conducted several disinfection programmes at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation premises, Election Secretariat, National Hospital-Colombo and Bank premises in Colombo area on 21st and 22nd April 2020.
