Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has appealed to the public to follow all safety guideline even when the curfew is lifted in order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has commenced investigations into rumours being spread of a complete lockdown of the country and on the funerals of individuals who had died due to COVID-19, said Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana.

Since the daily Covid-19 update was issued yesterday, eight more patients have tested positive for the Coronavirus, said Dr. Anil Jasinghe, the Director-General of Health Services.

The Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe said that testing procedures would be further expanded to determine if there are more persons who are infected with the Coronavirus. He said this during the media briefing of the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19 yesterday (04).
