The first Sri Lankan to have contracted the Coronavirus has been reported in the country.

No fee would be charged from the passengers arriving from Covid-19 affected countries who are sent to quarantine centres in Punani and Kandakadu, said Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickramasingha.

The statement issued by the Election Commission states that the deadline for acceptance of postal voting applications would not be extended under any circumstance. Those eligible to cast their postal vote are requested to complete the relevant form and hand it over to the certifying officer, which should be certified and sent to the relevant electoral division returning officer on or before March 16th.

The Election Commission has requested the general public to notify their respective District Election Offices or Grama Niladhari Officers prior to March 14th regarding their relatives residing overseas or those who are deceased.
