Pensions Department Director-General A. Jagath D. Dias said that special concessions have been made for Pensioners who were unable to get their pension on the due date due to the Coronavirus epidemic and those who were unable to upload their online applications.

The seventh Covid-19 patient succumbed to his illness yesterday (08). He was a 44-year old gem businessman who was receiving treatment at the IDH, Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe confirmed.

The prevailing situation in the country had greatly hampered the monthly receipt of medication of retired and serving naval personnel as well as their family members who are attending clinics in Navy General Hospital Colombo.

The government is in the process of formulating short term and long term plans to rebuild the tourism industry which has taken a major blow due to the Coronavirus pandemic,  said Minister of Industrial Export, Investment Promotion and Civil Aviation, Prasanna Ranatunga.
