The Sri Lanka–India Naval Exercise (SLINEX) -23 came to a successful conclusion in Colombo seas on 08th April 2023. Commenced on 03rd April, SLINEX -23 marked yet another milestone in the maritime cooperation between the two neighboring countries.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva and North-Western provinces during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy showers above 50mm are likely at some places in above areas.

Another blood donation campaign, organised in view of the 72nd Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, was successfully held at the Command Naval Hospital (North Central) at SLNS Pandukabhaya in Poonewa on 06th April 2023.

USNS Brunswick, a Spearhead-Class Expeditionary Fast Transport ship of the U.S. Navy arrived at the port of Trincomalee (08th April 2023).
