The Navy has made arrangements to deploy a special medical team from the Health Ministry to Kachchathivu Island during the upcoming annual feast. The additional medical measures have been taken as a precautionary measure owing to the current concerns over the Coronavirus, the Navy said on Thursday during a media briefing held at the Defence Ministry Media Centre.

The Russian Navy Ships ‘Yaroslav Mudry’ and ‘Victor Konetsky’ which arrived in Sri Lanka on 04th March 2020 on a goodwill visit, departed the Colombo harbour on successful completion of their tour events. Sri Lanka Navy bade farewell to the departing ships in accordance with naval traditions.

The residents of Matale had complained to the Central Province Governor Lalith U. Gamage regarding the difficulty they face in travelling to Colombo for various purposes daily due to traffic congestion on the roads.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa instructed members of the special task force set up to monitor and discuss preventive measures against Covid – 19 virus in Sri Lanka to formulate a scientific mechanism to prevent the disease entering the country.
