Ganemulla - based Commando Regiment (CR) Regimental Headquarters on Thursday (2) had Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva as the Chief Guest for the auspicious cornerstone-laying for construction of its proposed new office complex in the HQ premises.

A copy of the recently-published ‘The Conflict that Eluded Peace’, authored by the former Secretary of Defence and 17th Commander of the Army, General Shantha Kottegoda (Rtd) was presented December (2) to General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters.

In parallel with the series of religious programmes held in view of the 71st anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, a special Hindu 'Pooja' was conducted at the Shri Ponnambalawaneswarar Kovil, Colombo (01st December 2021).

Sri Lanka Navy held 85 persons for engaging illegal fishing, during special operations conducted in the Eastern, Southeastern, Northwestern, Northern, Southern and North Central Naval Commands from 01st to 30th November 2021. The operations also led to the apprehension of 24 fishing vessels and fishing accessories used for these illegal acts.
