HE the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces with the concurrence of the Ministry of Defence and recommendations of the Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and the Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva has promoted a total of 98 officers of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) to their next ranks, Military Secretariat announced on Saturday (6).

Sri Lanka Navy on 07th June 2020 conducted a special disinfection programme at the Kankesanthurai railway station to sterilize train compartments to help resume railway transportation while curbing the threat of COVID – 19.
