Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) extending his heartfelt and deep sense of gratitude to the Club Hotel Dolphin Chairman and Management, being the first and most generous to respond to the national need by making the entire Hotel and its staff available to the Army on its own for quarantine procedures free of charge, commended them for their national interests by inviting Hotel representatives and coordinators to the Commander's office recently.
Eight (08) inmates who were undergoing quarantine period in Naval quarantine centers at Boossa Naval Base and at Kalpitiya area, left the centers after completion of their quarantine process, on 01st and 02nd June 2020.
Continuing repatriation of Indian nationals stranded abroad due to COVID19, Indian Naval Ship INS Jalashwa made a voyage from Colombo Port to Tuticorin in India on 1st June 2020. The ship has sailed to Tuticorin in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu with nearly 700 stranded Indian nations from Sri Lanka.
