     • Of the 11,000 applications received by the President’s Fund in 2022,  work has been completed on 10,360.

    • Measures to increase the allowances paid as medical aid and to update the list of diseases for which medical aid is paid

    Sri Lanka Navy took hold of a smuggled consignment of Kendu leaves weighing about 150 kg (wet weight), during a patrol carried out in Lunuwila sea area of Kalpitiya on 28th December 2022. The consignment was adrift in the sea area when it was spotted by the Navy.

    As part of the sequence of religious programmes held in view of the 72nd Anniversary of the Navy, a spiritual event was conducted at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya on 28th December 2022, with the attendance of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Mala Lamahewa.

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs conducted an orientation programme from 16 - 23 December, for fourteen (14) newly designated Heads of Sri Lanka Missions abroad and two (02) Heads of Post who were recently appointed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Those appointed are due to assume duties shortly.
