WEATHER FORECAST FOR SEA AREAS AROUND THE ISLAND DURING

There is a possibility that sea will be rough near shore and also the low lying in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Batticaloa via Colombo and Galle, may experience surges to 24th April 2018 due to the effect of swell waves, having 2.5-3.0 m height (This is not for land area.)
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.Winds will be South-westerly in direction in the sea areas around the island and wind speed will be 20-30kmph.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts after 2.00 p.m.Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
