Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern, Uva, Central, North-central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Vauniya and Mullaitivu districts after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy falls about 75 mm can be expected at some places.

Light showers will occur in Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.

Marine Weather

Several spells of light showers will occur in the sea areas extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at few places in the eastern sea areas in the evening or night.

Winds will be westerly to south-westerly in direction in the sea areas around the island and wind speed will be 30-35 kmph.

Wind speed can increase up to 45kmph at times in the sea areas extending from Puttalam to Kankasanturai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
