    Academic achievement of Jaffna students recognized

    The academic achievement of three young students in Jaffna came under recognition at a simple ceremony facilitated by Sri Lanka Army in Jaffna, recently. According to Army media, the three students who had secured top ranks at the G.C.E. A/L exam in 2017 were felicitated and awarded with valuable gifts and educational incentives during the ceremony organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J).

    Mas. Sridharan Thuwakaran of Hartley College, who topped the island-wide ranking in the Physical Science stream, Mas. R.D.J Paul Jansen of St. Patrick's College and Miss. Kamaleshwaran Senthilnadan of Vembadi Girls High School who had secured the third place in country rankings in the Physical Science and Bio System Technology streams, respectively were thus felicitated at the ceremony.

    They were presented with three laptops and monthly scholarship grant of Rs. 5000.00 each, sponsored by the Makola Lions Club of District 306 B2.

    Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, donor agency representatives, parents and teachers of the students were present at the occasion.
