The fishermen had left for fishing onboard the fishing trawler "Neli Duwa" from Trincomalee earlier this month (03). He had become sick at sea and the SLN had dispatched one its Fast Attack Craft (FAC) to provide assistance after being informed of the situation by the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources.
The FAC was able to locate "Neli Duwa" in the International Maritime Boundary Line about 160 nautical miles off the Foul Point in Trincomalee. Later the patient was safely brought ashore onboard the FAC to the Naval Dockyard and swiftly sent to the Trincomalee General Hospital for treatment.
