As such, the need for the improvement of the infrastructure facilities of the institution suited for the present day educational courses have been recognized. Therefore, it has been planned to provide infrastructure facilities including the refurbishment of the auditorium, the construction of a building complex with audio and video recording cum editing facilities and other infrastructure facilities necessary for the purpose.
Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, the Minister of Higher Education & Cultural Affairs, to implement this project with the Indian Rs.275 million grant provided by the Government of India as a financial assistance and Rs.60.7 million as a total investment granted by the Government, was approved by the Cabinet.
