The proposal made by D.M. Swaminathan, the Minister of Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Northern Development & Hindu Religious Affairs, to pay compensation to the damaged properties and damaged places of worship due to the disturbances that occurred at Ginthota in the last year and in Ampara during this year, also taking into consideration, the methodology adopted in granting compensation in similar situations, was approved by the Cabinet.
