At the event Minister Premadasa presented the deeds to houses to the beneficiaries. In parallel to this event, concessionary housing loans to 145 low-income families and Shilpa Saviya Benefits for 175 scholarship recipients were also gifted. The Minister also presented housing aid checks for 30 recipients.

Sri Lanka has embarked on building model villages to provide housing to low income families in order to alleviate poverty and develop every province in the country.The construction of the model villages is spearheaded by Minister Sajith Premadasa under the National Housing Development Authority�s low interest housing loan scheme.

Minister Sajith Premadasa will open the 102nd model village 'Lurdunagar' in Naruillukum of Mannar district for public on Sunday (August 05).
