    Twenty three (23) inmates who were undergoing quarantine period in Naval quarantine center at Kalpitiya area, left the center after completion of their quarantine process, on 18th May 2020.

    A total of 350 more individuals will arrive in Sri Lanka today (14) from Maldives by a Sri Lankan flight. They all will be taken to Army-managed Quarantine Centres (QCs) for quarantine process, a Media statement of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) issued on Tuesday (13) stated.

    Army Commander and Head of the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19 (NOCPCO) Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva during the daily briefing yesterday (10) said that out of the 12 persons who tested positive for the Coronavirus on Saturday, 10 were navy personnel and the other two were those who had contact with the infected persons, but currently in quarantine. Accordingly, by Saturday night there were 578 persons receiving treatment at various hospitals.

    The Government has taken a decision to reopen the country in order to restart the economy, said Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi.
