The prevailing showery condition over the island is expected to reduce to some extent.

A special Deepavali celebration was held at the Presidential Secretariat (Oct 24) under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

According to Article 34 of the Constitution of Sri Lanka, the President Ranil Wickremesinghe has granted amnesty to eight Tamil prisoners who by the powers assigned to the President in connection with granting amnesty to a person convicted by a court of Sri Lanka.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed to increase the weekly fuel quota of 05 litres issued for professional passenger transport three-wheelers to 10 litres.
