When the curfew is lifted tomorrow the public should engage in purchasing goods following proper instructions without misusing the facility and all shops should open during the period the curfew is lifted to facilitate smooth purchasing for the public, said Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva. The Army Commander made this special appeal to the people residing in the areas where the curfew will be lifted tomorrow (30). “I appeal to the public to go and make their purchases by following the proper health instructions and I also urge the shop owners to supply the requirements of the public in a manner which is convenient to them. The shop owners should make available the required goods for the customers and maintain the required distance by permitting only a limited number of customers into their shops at a time. I also appeal to the public not to crowd into shops and to keep their distance from each other while making their purchases. They should divide themselves and do their shopping without everyone scrambling into one shop. The Coronavirus is very dangerous and I urge the public to make use of the time given by lifting the curfew to make their purchases in a manner which does not jeopardise their safety and the safety of the others.”
