    Australia has delivered essential coastal clean-up equipment to the Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) to assist Sri Lanka’s response to the MV X-Press Pearl incident. On 16 June, Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka David Holly presented the equipment to Ms Dharshani Lahandapura, Chairperson, MEPA.

    The Governor of the Eastern Province, Anuradha Yahampath stated that the decision to transform Sri Lanka's agriculture into fully organic agriculture was a humane decision made for the betterment of the country and not a decision made according to a political agenda.

    State Minister, Nimal Lanza said that 20,903 proposals have been received to the State Ministry of Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure for the road development project program launched in 14,022 Grama Niladhari Divisions with an allocation of Rs. 2 million for each Grama Niladhari Division.
