Hon.  Jagath Priyankara was sworn in as a member of the Ninth Parliament before the Speaker Hon. Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana today (08).

President Ranil Wickramasinghe left the island early today (08) to participate in the 7th Indian Ocean Conference being held in Perth, Australia.

From ancient times to the present day, our world has encountered a myriad of crises, spanning nations and personal lives alike. While some crises could be overcome, others proved insurmountable. Mere condemnation and blame-shifting towards the crisis itself and not moving beyond scrutinizing its root causes are not effective means of resolution.

The Fifth Session of the Ninth Parliament is scheduled to be ceremonially declared open on the 07.02.2023 by Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe, the President. The rehearsal pertaining to the ceremonial opening was held today (2024.02.06) at the Parliament premises to which many were present including students of Devi Balika Vidyalaya.
