    State Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Taraka Balasuriya, has defended the President’s recent foreign trips against criticism. He dismissed claims that the trips were unnecessary, emphasizing their importance in strengthening Sri Lanka’s foreign relations and securing new partnerships.

    In a major step towards resolving land ownership issues for over two million Sri Lankans, the “Urumaya” program will be officially launched on 05th February in Dambulla. Tourism, Lands and Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Harin Fernando announced this during a press briefing held at the President Media Centre today (31) under the theme ‘Collective Path to a Stable Country’.

    President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphasized that the foundation of a nation’s economy lies in fostering an enlightened and cultured society. He made these remarks during the inauguration of the new building complex at the Kelaniya University Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies yesterday(31).

     Mr. Nalin Fernando, Minister of Trade Commerce and Food Security, and Mrs. Miyon Lee, the Sri Lankan Ambassador of the Korean Government, held a meeting today (31) at the Ministry of Trade.
