    With the aim of developing cricket in the schools of the Gampaha district, cricket equipment was distributed to 67 schools yesterday (15) at the Presidential Secretariat. This event was held under the patronage of Mr. Sagala Ratnayaka, the Chief of Staff to the President and the President’s Senior Adviser on National Security.

    The government has planned an island-wide newspaper article competition to educate school students about the Financial Management Bills and the Economic Transformation Bills. This initiative aims to raise awareness and engagement among the youth on these crucial topics.

    President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphasized the importance of a political culture that prioritizes the nation over traditional politics for the country’s advancement.

    Buddhasasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs Minister Vidura Wickramanayake said that many antiquities taken from the country by the United Kingdom during the colonial period, including the statue of Tara, will be returned to Sri Lanka.
