Under the visionary concept of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, ensuring the full entitlement to free land rights, the Kilinochchi District Program of the “Urumaya” initiative convened this morning (25) at the Nelum Piyasa Hall, Iranimadu presided over by the President.
Under the guidance of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the Sri Lanka Navy has arranged religious programmes across all Naval Commands to celebrate the Vesak festival on 23rd May 2024. The Navy also played a significant role in supporting the State Vesak Festival held at Dharmaraja Pirivena in Matale and actively participating in events of Bauddaloka Vesak Zone, Buddha Rashmi Vesak Zone, Diyatha Uyana Vesak Zone, Mahara-Kadawatha Vesak Zone, and Valukaramaya Vesak Zone in Kollupitiya.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe inaugurated the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Healthcare at the Kilinochchi District General Hospital. The facility, constructed with funding of LKR 5,320 million from the Government of the Netherlands, under the government’s initiative to enhance healthcare infrastructure nationwide, was officially inaugurated by the President, this morning (25).
