Embassy of Sri Lanka fosters Sri Lanka - Thai collaboration in batik art
November 29, 2024As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural ties and promote artistic collaboration, the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Bangkok facilitated the participation of Harshi Batik, a Sri Lankan artisan, in a specialized training programme on traditional Thai batik. The programme was conducted by the esteemed Phaya Batik and Phaya Paint Batik in Thailand, recognized for their expertise in preserving and innovating the timeless art of batik.

The Department of Irrigation is constantly monitoring the changes in the rainfall conditions across the Island and the changes in the water levels of major rivers. And all the arrangement has been made to issue prior warnings and information of flood situation as necessary, it need arises.

The event took place yesterday (28) at the Main Hall of Temple Trees, with the participation of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
