A large number of countries took the floor in support of Sri Lanka during the Interactive Dialogue on Sri Lanka at the 57th Session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) that commenced in Geneva on 09th September 2024. The countries commended the progress made by Sri Lanka in the past two years including stabilizing the economy, social protection measures as well as the continued efforts to promote national unity and reconciliation through domestic processes.
Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, the Speaker endorsed the certificate on the Bill titled National Minimum Wage of Workers (Amendment) Bill today (Sep. 11) in accordance with Article 79 of the Constitution.
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Netherlands, with the support of the Sri Lanka Tourism Board (SLTPB), participated in the “Embassy Festival 2024” held in The Hague recently. The Embassy organized two stalls showcasing Sri Lankan tourism, culture, cuisine, tea and handicrafts to the Dutch and other international visitors.
Pursuant to requests from the Sri Lankan community in Italy to the Embassy to provide consular services on weekends, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Rome launched its first trial weekend service on 08th September 2024 from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
