Sri Lanka Defines its Priorities for the Summit of the Future
August 25, 2024The Presidential Secretariat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the United Nations in Sri Lanka, co-hosted a national event for Sri Lanka to articulate its contributions to the Summit of the Future which will be held from 22-23 September 2024 in New York.
Government employees’ basic salary will increase by 24% to over 50% from next January
August 25, 2024- Cost of Living Allowance of Rs. 25,000 will remain unchanged for three years commencing January 2025.
- The minimum salary of Rs. 55,000 for primary level public service employee category.
- Pensioners will receive a Cost of living Allowance of Rs. 12,500 from next January – Chairman of the Expert Committee on Public Service Salary Disparities, Udaya R. Seneviratne.
The presentation of the Buddha statue donated to Sri Lanka by China's White Horse Temple was held at the 'Dharmayathanaya' in Bauddaloka Mawatha, Colombo under the patronage of Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
