August 11, 2024The sacred moment of tusker Indiraja with the Relic Casket stepping upon the ancient moonstone, at the auspicious hour, under the watchful gaze of the heavens marking the start of Kandy Esala Perahera Festival 2024.
A search operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard off the Kudiramalei Point of northwestern seas, south of Mannar on 09th August 2024, led to the interception of 03 dinghies with about 2,068kg (wet weight) of smuggled Tendu leaves and 06 suspects.
