In an attempt to prevent the spread of the COVID – 19 in the country, the Sri Lanka Navy engaged in disinfecting the Trincomalee railway station on 18th March 2020.

The Education Ministry notifies that all schools should stop all sports activities and other activities until April 20^th.

China has urgently provided a concessionary loan of US$ 500 million with a term of 10 years, to help Sri Lanka financially to better respond to the current COVID–19 pandemic.

All officials of the education field including Education Ministry officials have been notified under circular  ED/ 01/21/3/9 on March 13^th that measures should be taken to educate the teachers, students andother staff members regarding the measures needed to be taken in order to avoid being infected by the Coronavirus which has now been declared as an epidemic by the WHO.
