The 'Work from Home' period has been extended further for another week from April 6 to 10, in order to strengthen the efforts of the Government to prevent the spread of COVID – 19  in the country. Last week too it was declared a work from home week.

In order to assist those with suspected Covid-19 the Ministry of Health has established an emergency hotline 1390 for the public to obtain free medical advice on symptoms of COVID-19.

The Army, Navy, Air Force and Police will launch a programme to entertain people confined to their homes due to the curfew in place to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus by staging musical programmes, said Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva.

The Police Media Spokesman SSP Jaliya Senaratne dismissed the news being circulated over social media claiming that the government plans to completely shut down the country from April 10 to 15 and that the curfew would be strictly enforced preventing the supply of any food distribution and all shops would be compelled to close during this period and said that there was absolutely no truth to these rumors.
