    False news regarding total lock-down from 10-15 false- Police Spokesman

    The Police Media Spokesman SSP Jaliya Senaratne dismissed the news being circulated over social media claiming that the government plans to completely shut down the country from April 10 to 15 and that the curfew would be strictly enforced preventing the supply of any food distribution and all shops would be compelled to close during this period and said that there was absolutely no truth to these rumors.

     

    He noted that these were absolutely false stories and said that the government has not taken such a decision.

    The Police Media Spokesman also warned the public not to engage in the spread of such false news over social media.

    The SSP said that the CID has commenced an investigation into this matter and legal action would be initiated against those responsible for spreading such misleading false news.
