Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to the health sector for the successful conduct of a COVID-19 vaccination drive, carried out focusing the school children in Trincomalee of the Eastern Province. The Navy lent their helping hand for this timely effort, as part of its community service and social responsibility initiatives.

COPE has decided to meet separately and hold a special meeting in near future to look into the power generation, procurement, distribution and projects of the Ceylon Electricity Board.

The President and Commander-in- Chief of Armed Forces of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa appointed Rear Admiral Upul De Silva as the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, effective from 21st June 2022.

Relinquishing duties to which he was committed about 36 years, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral YN Jayarathne retired from naval service (21st June 2022).
