    ‘YOU CAN SRI LANKA’ Publicity program to show the correct path to vocational education

    Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation State Ministry has planned a series of programs to guide the youth toward the right vocational education. The
    roadmap titled ‘YOU CAN SRI LANKA’ will be launched through the Media, Digital platforms as well as provincial awareness programs.


    The objective of the program is to help promoting correct attitudes in the society about successful and productive vocational education opportunities thereby guiding the youth community towards the right vocations.  This would help produce a young skillful workforce in the country to meet the existing demand in compliance with the Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour Statement of the President.

    This vocational and skill development publicity program has been planned to publicize through the media and digital technology methods. The programs will be telecast on Channel Eye from September 27 and 29, as well as on October 1, 2021, from 7 to 7.30 am.  Sirasa Channel will telecast the same program on October 2, 2021, from 4.00 to 4.30 pm.

    The State Ministry has also planned to hold daily Webinars for targeted groups from September 27 to October 03, 2021, from 7 to 8 pm.

    At the same time, www.youthjobs.lk will be launched on September 30, 2021, to disseminate updated information in the field.


    In addition, provincial-level awareness sessions have been scheduled, and Skill Development Officers attached to Divisional Secretariats will participate as resource persons in these sessions.


    The program expects to create awareness among school students, young adults, teachers, parents and State and Private sector workers. Among them are how to choose successful
    vocational education, where such education could be obtained, information to reach job markets and successful vocational education to get productive job opportunities. These programs are implemented by the Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation State Ministry with the support of the Education Ministry.

    The National Education Institute, Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission and You Lead Project have also joined with these series of programs.
