The people will be made aware of the contents of the new agriculture policy through media said the Agriculture Minister Duminda Dissanayake and added that once this is publicized interested parties are welcome to submit views, proposals and amendments.

The Irrigation Ministry and the Agrarian Services Department will implement a practical and efficient water resource management system in addition to the restoration of dilapidated tanks. It is intended to appoint an agriculture experts committee at national level to supervise the national food production enhancing activities.
