A proposal made by Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to sign and enforce the Air Service Agreement, has already been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Serbia, which is an upper middle income country, makes a vast contribution to its economy through tourism and has entered into multilateral air agreements with 13 countries in the European Union.
It is observed that the air service relations of Siberia would be helpful in the development of air service and tourism in Sri Lanka.
Especially, the Mattala International Airport can be fruitfully utilized through allowing Serbian aircrafts to access and fly to other countries via this airport.
