Sri Lanka-Serbia Air Service Agreement to be enforced

    November 21, 2015

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has taken steps to sign and enforce the Air Service Agreement between Sri Lanka and Serbia by an accredited representative of Sri Lanka, which has already been signed in the official level.

It is visible that air service agreements with other countries play a major role in the development of air service and tourism in Sri Lanka. It is observed that the air service relations of Siberia would be helpful in the development of air service and tourism in Sri Lanka, especially, to fruitfully utilize the  Mattala International Airport by allowing Serbian aircrafts to access and fly to other countries via this airport.

Serbia, which is an upper middle income country, makes a vast contribution to its economy through tourism and has entered into multilateral air agreements with 13 countries in the European Union.
