The Central Environment Authority conducted tests to determine whether the water secured from water resources within the environs of the factory at Rathupaswala is suitable for drinking. The Appeals Court ordered the Central Environment Authority to present this report to Courts on or before the 08th of February.
Appeals Court President Vijith Malalgoda gave this ruling when the writ petition demanding legal action against the factory involved in the Rathupaswala water issue was taken up for hearing yesterday. The Writ petition was filed by the Siyane Water Protection Association and the Centre for Environmental Justice.
