Statistics reveal that the arrival of foreign tourists has recorded a new high. The foreigners seem to display an interest in visiting not only the South of the island but also the North. Many foreign tourists are seen in the Galle, Matara and Hambantota cities in the Southern Province. It has also been found that they are mostly attracted by the beautiful Southern beaches as well as the historic sites.

According to foreign tourists in the country they are interested in visiting Sri Lanka as it is a very beautiful island and due to the peaceful environment that is prevailing.
