The Ministry of Agriculture has taken steps to distribute subsidy for farmers who are cultivating plantains, papaya and pineapple for the first time since January this year.
The Ministry hopes to popularize the home-gardening project by distributing seeds and saplings to farmers communities and householders interested in growing food crops in their own homes.
The ministry said the country's 554 Agrarian Services centres will be linked to provide streamlined services to the farmers.
A programme will also be implemented to register all farmers in the country this year, .
