In response to a request made by the Presidential Task Force for Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease, the Sri Lanka Navy effected repairs to a malfunctioned Reverse Osmosis Plant (RO Plant) at Mu/Janakapura Vidyalaya in Janakapura, Weli Oya, enabling the students to have clean and safe drinking water.
Repairs were carried out by the Navy’s Research and Development Unit utilizing their expertise and technical know-how. The Navy’s quick response to the urgent need was a great relief to the school children living in an area where a high prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is recorded.
