The Deputy Director General (Guard and Rescue) of the Japanese Coast Guard, Vice Admiral Hiroyuki Nakano paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters on Tuesday (26). They held cordial discussions on a range of issues of mutual interest and exchanged mementos to mark the occasion.
Vice Admiral Nakano is visiting Sri Lanka to take part in a JICA-sponsored project to transfer knowledge and skills on “Marine Environment Protection and Marine Disaster Management Measures especially on Oil Spills” to the relevant officials of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard.
