The Deputy Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife Mrs. Sumedha G. Jayasena said the number of families owned the electricity in Siyambalanduwa area has been increased up to 98 percent from 4 percent since year 1994 and the rest of the area would be provided the electricity by April this year.
According to her, a large number of families were provided with electricity connections and the infrastructure facilities in Monaragala district and the project would under the current Government.
She made these observations recently in Siyambalanduwa inaugurating an electricity connection program in Siyambalanduwa divisional secretariat area.
She said a loan of Rs.40,000 will be given for the low-income families to obtain electricity connections and for wiring subjected to a low interest.
