The water projects will be opened in Thirappane, Kekerawa, Thamankaduwa, Hingurakgoda, Mihinthale and Ibbagamuwa. The number of kidney patients found in these DS divisions was 2,310.

The Government has taken steps to construct eight water supply schemes spending Rs. 1,023.78 million in the North Central Province to provide water to some 231,200 people to combat the chronic kidney disease in the Province.
